Day 3: Brora
Designed by James Braid in 1923, Brora provides a classic links challenge with undulating fairways and natural bunkers. Its unique charm includes grazing sheep and cattle, maintained by electric fences around the greens. The course offers panoramic views of the North Sea, enhancing its serene atmosphere. Brora is often praised for its preservation of traditional golf, offering a glimpse into the game’s past.
Day 4: Castle Stuart
From the course’s website, Castle Stuart Golf Links features “infinity edge greens to rumpled fairways, natural bunkers, and spectacular open views, golf at Cabot Highlands is best described as a throwback to golf as it once was. Already home to Castle Stuart Golf Links, the property will soon welcome Old Petty, an additional championship layout by acclaimed architect Tom Doak.” On this itinerary, 36 holes of play is a possibility between the two courses.
Day 5: Royal Dornoch
The amount of visitors who come home from a Scottish golf vacation and say that the Championship Course at Royal Dornoch was their favorite during their trip is staggering. This course may not get the same notoriety as others who have hosted Open Championships, but that doesn’t mean for one second that this won’t be one of the most special rounds of your life. Designed by the legendary Old Tom Morris, this course features plateau greens, fast and firm fairways, and stunning ocean-sided vistas that you won’t soon forget.
