Royal Aberdeen
Established in 1780, Royal Aberdeen is the sixth oldest golf club globally. The Balgownie Course is renowned for its challenging front nine, considered among the best in links golf. It has hosted notable tournaments, including the 2014 Scottish Open, where Rory McIlroy set a course record. The course’s layout offers a traditional out-and-back design, with the inward nine providing a stern test against prevailing winds.
A pair of outstanding courses
Known as one of the truest linksland layouts in golf, the Balgownie Course at Royal Aberdeen is the star of the show here as it features fast and firm fairways, ample dunes, and plenty of difficult pot bunkers to keep you on your toes throughout the round. The Silverburn Course at Royal Aberdeen is the sister course to the famous Balgownie Course and serves as a fun and playable 18 hole course that has nine par-3s and blends links and parkland-style attributes to create a unique experience on your Scotland visit.
